How To Convey Your Lifestyle Through Your Blog

I hope everyone is staying home and safe during this quarantine! I have been slacking on posting lately so my apologies to you, dear readers. It's certainly been crazy times here so I have a guest post for you today from Gabrielle Sinacola of NeoReach. Gabrielle Sinacola is a digital marketing consultant and content writer at NeoReach. She has a background in computer science and business, merging technical and creative skills to drive impact for companies. Gabrielle is dedicated to propelling strategic marketing initiatives forward with innovative thinking and detailed execution. Enjoy!

How to Convey Your Lifestyle Through Your Blog

Just as you would furnish and decorate your home to reflect your taste and personality, so should you adorn your blog. It is much more complicated to not convey your lifestyle through your blog, that is to hide your lifestyle, than it is to share it. That’s because we inherently speak to what we know and love. This comes across in all forms of content you publish, from words to images to sponsorships. If something does not fit with your lifestyle, your audience will be able to tell. The ability to gain and engage a loyal following is accomplished through a natural flow of information. Information that matches who you are and what you stand for.

Read Between the Lines

I am sure you have heard the saying that it’s not what you say but how you say it. Commonly applied to situations arising in arguments, this idea also feeds into the written word as well. Beyond the words on the page, it is important to understand the unspoken component of your content. Your lifestyle comes through in the connotation of the blog posts. Think about how your posts answer questions such as:

  • How does your audience feel when reading your blog?
  • Am I speaking to a specific demographic (working mothers, varsity athletes, etc.)?
  • How formal or informal is the language I am using?

As an author, your tone is vitally important to how your content is received by a reader. This is brought about through word choice– use of slang, industry jargon– and any anecdotes you include. If you are talking to busy mothers, you want to keep posts concise, informative and relatable. You would opt for everyday language as opposed to long explanations. To tell a fellow mother why a skincare product is safe for her children, you want to include easily digestible statements that get a bigger message across like “BPA free” or “no chemical additives.” You are not, however, going to start talking about the organic compounds used in the product and their reaction with the skin cells. Not only is that boring, but it is unnecessary to your audience.

You may share your own experience with dealing with eczema for your son/daughter and how it impacted your product selection. This additional personal touch adds to your credibility. By sharing little parts of your own life, you are providing windows into your lifestyle. Usually, these things come to mind when you are writing a blog post, but you ignore them or deem them unimportant to your reader. Those details that are specific to you and your blog will attract the audience most benefiting from your content and eager to consume it!

It Is All in the Details

I just talked about how it goes deeper than what you write, and I am going to keep building on that idea. Think about the nonverbal elements of your blog. Visuals.

There are a hundreds of ways to capture the same image with a camera that can differ in:

  • Composition
  • Focus
  • Lighting
  • Camera angle
  • Filters & Editing
  • And so many more...

Not only photographed images, but also computer generated images. You have a whole host of media forms to choose to include (or not include) that play into portraying your lifestyle:

  • Video
  • Animation
  • Illustrations

With all of this, the overall color scheme and layout of your blog convey your lifestyle too. You can go all white with a very clean, geometric format. Or, you can choose to go with bold colors and odd angles to keep it interesting at every click. An easy way to get inspiration for this is to look at other blogs in your niche or who you would attribute to having a similar lifestyle as yourself. Look at how they organize their content and how that affects what you gain from it and how you perceive the blogger. Use different social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest to find different juxtapositions of written content and graphics that fit best with what you are trying to achieve.

You Do You

Chances are you already have a pretty good idea of what and how you want to share your life with your blog audience. As the expert on your lifestyle, you have the best intuition on what is and isn’t going to work for your readers, and yourself. Write it out as a draft if you are really struggling and read it all the way through aloud. Pay attention to the inflections in your voice, the emotions that arise as you read, and the feeling you have once you have finished. These are all great indicators of whether or not you are properly portraying your lifestyle through your blog.

Exercise And Supplements And Wellness...OH MY!

In the past two years, I have been on a health and wellness mission. I'm not sure if it is because I turn 43 this year, my brother had a really big health scare last year that put him in the ICU for a few weeks, or I'm just plain tired of being tired, I am serious business about getting back to good. I have been steadily losing weight and trying to better my diet and myself any way that I can.

It's been quite the journey but ultimately, I feel a lot better. My outlook on life has gotten better (despite many of my writings that might make it seem otherwise) and I feel physically better than I have in YEARS.

Of course, once you get into this whole health and wellness lifestyle, you will start to see more and more recommendations for supplements and detox cleanses. Up until this point, I had only really taken a collagen supplement (because my skin seems to love gravity more than staying where it's supposed to be on my body) and didn't really think about any others. Then, my brother got very sick and I started to think about maybe trying a detox cleanse or something similar.

I tried many, much more than I'd like to admit, and while I understand that not all detox products cannot be classified as snake oil, I did find one that I am pretty happy with.

I have been taking it for about a month now and I like it a lot! I feel better than I thought I would and am actually impressed. Liver Cleanse Plus features 13 herbs used for generations (8 Chinese herbs and 5 that are western herbs). This mix was  tested and re-tested for 8 years prior to its launch. Also, there is no Milk Thistle in Liver Cleanse Plus, as Milk Thistle, being a "liver protector,” caused the formula not to work. The liver’s job is to protect you. If you are protecting it with Milk Thistle, the liver is isolated from the body. A poor functioning or “protected / isolated” liver, cannot filter waste. Thereby, it causes  your body to be bathed in all sorts of “raw” substances that are not healthy. I started with a liver cleanse/detox because the liver is the largest organ inside the human body. It weighs approximately 1 pound, houses the gallbladder, and carries out hundreds of functions. Just to name a few:

  • The liver filters everything we eat or come in contact with
  • It helps regulate blood sugar levels, cleanses the blood, metabolizes vitamin A, and detoxifies poisonous substances and more
  • Up to 25% of the liver can be removed and it will still regenerate itself
The liver may be the most overworked and misunderstood organ in the human body. It filters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Therefore, I decided to start there! I was not disappointed trying this product and have added it to my daily routine. By using my link, you can get 10% off of Liver Cleanse Plus and see for yourself!

If the liver is affected you will notice it in the following areas: Skin irritation, eye irritation, aches and pains, frayed emotions, headaches, low energy, foggy thinking, slow reaction time, fatigue, muscle weakness, congestion and mental stress. I have a fun quiz below for you to determine if this is the best liver detox for you:

Is Liver Cleanse Plus right for you?

  • Do your moods run you?
  • Do you get headaches?
  • Do you get reoccurring muscle and joint pain?
  • Is it hard to stay in a good mood?
  • Is your vision fuzzy or blurry from time to time?
  • Do you get irritable from time to time?
  • Do you or have you had gallbladder or liver problems?
  • Do you have trouble concentrating, feel foggy or slow?
  • Do you run out of energy during the day?
  • Do “things” just build up and get to you?
  • Do you have allergies or congestion?
  • Does an area of your skin frequently burn or itch?
  • Do your eyes burn, get red, irritated or itchy?
  • Do you have insomnia or are you restless?
  • Are you frequently awake between 1:30 to 3:30 A.M.?
  • Do you have "liver” or “age spots”?
  • Is your skin broken out or blemished?
  • Are your emotions on a roller coaster?
  • Do you later have to apologize for your bad moods?
  • Is there always “something” wrong?
  • If you are upset, is it best not to talk to you?
  • Does the cheeriness of others annoy you?

Scoring:

Count your YES answers and see below.

0-3 – Great! Liver Cleanse Plus will help you maintain a healthy liver.
4-6 – You would see clear benefit.

Kind Clouds

I used to do a lot of E-juice reviews on my old blog and YouTube channel for my vapefam, but as you can see, I have moved on to reviewing many different products.

There's nothing like going back home, though! So, today I am lucky enough to bring you a review of Kind Juice, a premium organic juice!

Pictured here with my new Smok Priv

I was sent Custard's Last Stand to try. The flavor of this juice is so fresh and vibrant! I don't normally vape any custard, cream, milk or cereal flavors, so I wasn't sure if I was even going to be able to review this juice honestly. I decided to give it a try anyway and was pleasantly surprised!

The description on the website says it is a butterscotch creme brulee topped with a caramelized aged cognac glaze.

Well, alright.

I don't know what creme brulee or cognac glaze whatever tastes like.

Custard's Last Stand, while it is a creamy/custard flavor, is VERY nice. The flavors pop and are very strong. I have to say, it is legitimately awesome for a creamy ejuice! I liked it instantly and had to double check that it really was a custard! It has a bit of a strawberry/berry flavor from somewhere that is subtle but lovely and the custard was a truly pleasant finish (and may have changed my mind about custard/creamy flavors)! It has a smooth and authentic flavor that produces ginormous clouds!

Kind Juice even gave me a discount code to share with you guys! Just type in STEPHSTEB when you place your order here and you will get 20% off of an order of $99 or more! Don't forget to check out other awesome deals on their juices (I have my eye on Key West Sunset for my next purchase)!

What is your favorite type of ejuice?

Joyal Beauty Retinol Cream

I am on a beauty kick lately.

I started out in my forties not worrying a bit about wrinkles, lines, dark circles, puffy eyes, etc etc etc. 41? Not so much.

So, in my quest to find the perfect creams, elixirs, potions, and lotions, I was asked to review Joyal Beauty's Retinol Cream.

Like the Joyal Beauty Vitamin C Brightening Cream I tried awhile ago, this is a heavy cream with a different sort of smell. The difference, however, is that this one worked much better! I put it on every night before bed and actually started to see results within a week! I did not break out at all and I can tell that my skin is firming up due to the boost in collagen and although it doesn't work as well as my very favorite "beauty hack"....

                                                   (LOL)

It is definitely something I plan on adding to my regular routine. You can find Joyal Beauty Retinol Cream on Amazon for just $20.85. Let me know how you like it!

**I have received a sample product, payment, or both in exchange for this review. Regardless, I pride myself in bringing you an honest and thorough review. Thanks for reading! My comment box is always open for any questions you may have!**
