Sometimes

 It sits in your gut
sometimes
rumbling
and rolling as rough
as the sea

It sits in your chest
sometimes
throbbing
beating your blood
right through your veins

It sits in your throat
sometimes
scratching your itchy
vocal chords
until you scream
its song

It sits in your tongue
sometimes
strong
yet
always trapped

It sits in your head
all the time
dancing
an apocalypse party
that never
ever
ends.

  1. A very realistic poem that hits close to home. I suffer for cross contamination OCD and have mists of high anxiety and mild doses of depression. Your poem feels like it’s talking about mental or emotional illness of some kind. It’s a very good poem though! Not too dark, but still honest and genuine about what’s going on inside.
